Launched just last fall, a 麻豆精选 company dedicated to helping train and mentor businesses and organizations achieve sustainability now has three recipients that have completed its certification.

Green Wise Academy is a sustainability training and consulting firm, that has been working with Chaibaba Tea, Mamas for Mamas and Venture Retirement Community Earn New to create a healthy environment that leads to enhanced employee/ occupant retention, satisfaction and well-being.

Trish Matthews the principal and CEO of Green Wise Academy said that the three organizations worked to align their sustainability efforts with social issues, such as diversity and inclusion, mental health support and workplace satisfaction.

鈥淭he beauty of our new certification is that it doesn鈥檛 use the cookie-cutter approach that other sustainability designations do. We鈥檝e taken the best practices and procedures from all green/ sustainability categories and have designed a more realistic, creative and accessible way for buildings and businesses to proudly showcase the hard work that they have accomplished, demonstrating their green efforts in a meaningful and achievable way,鈥 said Matthews.

Chaibaba Tea, based in 麻豆精选, not only has worked on its carbon footprint and waste reduction but also gives back to its community and utilizes organic tea farmers and products.

While Mamas for Mamas is a national charitable organization dedicated to supporting mothers and caregivers in crisis.

According to Matthews, Mamas for Mamas, with locations across the Okanagan, has initiatives such as career training, leadership education, and textile recycling programs, that have significantly reduced 鈥渋ts environmental impact while improving the lives of vulnerable populations.鈥

鈥淭his organization also achieved recognition for its overall reduction of environmental waste and carbon footprint through accepting donations from major retail outlets and textile recycling programs,鈥 explained Matthews.

Based in Nelson, Vendure Waterview Retirement Resort, has prioritized sustainability in creating a healthy, accessible living space for seniors, said Matthews.

The development includes sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems that promote both environmental sustainability and the well-being of its residents.

These three receipts are the first to receive the Green Wise Certification Standard, after integrating sustainable practices into their core operations.
