School District 83 and WorkBC are partnering on event to help people in search of summer work.
On Tuesday, March 11, WorkBC and K虛wsaltktn茅ws ne Secwepemc煤l鈥檈cw will be hosting a Career and Job Fair at the SASCU Recreation Centre.
Open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the five-hour event is geared towards all members of the public and any high school students looking for a summer job or investigating possible careers.
Over one hundred businesses, not-for-profit agencies, and post-secondary institutions from across the district and around the province have been invited to take part in the fair, said the school district in a media release.
At least one vendor from Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Enderby, Armstrong, Sorrento and the North Shuswap, will be offering work or guidance at the event.
"Students and members of the public are encouraged to prepare a resume for vendors as many exhibitors are looking to hire students for the summer," said the school district, adding students from Revelstoke and Chase secondary schools have been invited to be part of the event.
