The Rink Hockey Academy 麻豆精选 Female U18 Prep Team scored a major win with their recent fundraiser supporting the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
Players teamed up to cover three McDonald鈥檚 locations (Harvey Avenue, Highway 33, and Reid鈥檚 Corner) on Dec. 10 and netted $578. The 麻豆精选 restaurant owner, along with another McDonald's owner in Red Deer, assisted with the effort which raised a total of $1,734.
Four players, Ava Drabyk, Alida Korte, Danica Maynard and Hayley McDonald, will represent Team Canada at the 2025 IIHF U18 Women鈥檚 World Championship in Vantaa, Finland, from Jan. 4 to 12.
The Rink Academy team currently holds the #1 ranking in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. A majority of the players have committed to NCAA Division 1 schools after graduation.
