Jack went missing from 3770 50th St. NE around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2025. A reward is being offered for his safe return.

Though Jack isn't his dog, Travis Orr wants him home.

The Salmon Arm resident contacted the Observer to help get out word the about Jack, who went missing from 3770 50th St. NE around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Orr said in a March 7 interview that it had been a couple of days since the dog was last sighted, he hoped the Observer might help reach anyone who hasn't seen the related posts on social media.

"He's been missing for a week and a bit… and the owner thinks he might possibly have been picked up, someone might have them in their house," said Orr who, along with his girlfriend and sister, has been searching for Jack.

Jack weighs 12 lbs and is approximately eight-years old, with a cream-coloured coat. His distinguishing features are that he is missing all his teeth, and his tongue hangs out of the right side of his mouth. The dog is timid and nervous about being approached.

Rozanna Newman, who is spearheading the search for the dog's owner, Barry Newman, said in an email that Jack was possibly spotted on the day he went missing around Okanagan Avenue and 60th Street.

"There was also a possible sighting the next day around Askew's Uptown," said Rozanna. "There have been so many caring and helpful people out looking for Jack. It has been truly heartwarming to have people who have no association with Jack out looking for him."

There is a $1,000 reward for Jack's safe return, though that is not what's driving Orr's efforts to help locate and return the dog to his owner.

"I see dogs go missing all the time on the sites and I’m kind of just sad about it, but this one just hit home for some reason," said Orr. "I’m like, holy cow, I want to help find this dog, and the more I looked into it, the more compelled I was to help."

Anyone who may have seen Jack is urged to call 250-515-6240.
