Comedian Jordan Nathan will be bringing his unique style of comedy to B.C., starting with shows in 麻豆精选, Kamloops and Penticton.

An Ontario-based comedian who has toured North America is bringing his latest shows to Penticton, 麻豆精选 and the rest of B.C.

Growing up watching comedians like Robin Williams and Mitch Hedberg, Jordan Nathan had always used humour as a way to express himself and to ease people with the fact he has a stutter.

"It kind of comes naturally with being self-deprecating," said Nathan. "I think that challenges shouldn't hold you back. People say I'm so brave, but I didn't really have a choice, I just do it. I don't wake up and think 'Today I'm going to put on my brave hat', I just do what I do.

Starting with a show on Feb. 13 in 麻豆精选, Nathan will be touring B.C., with a stop in Kamloops on Feb. 14 and then Penticton on Feb. 15 before heading down to the coast.

Nathan has been performing as a comedian since 2018, when he got up for an open mic night, and has had multiple golden ticket appearances on the Kill Tony comedy podcast in the U.S.

One of his inspirations, and a comedian he says is underrated, is Josh Blue. Blue has cerebral palsy and has overcome the challenges of being a comedian himself.

"He taught me anything is possible to watch him on television," said Nathan. "He's especially well known to most of the disability community, but he should be more known."

"I love to make people laugh and making people laugh is one of my greatest choices, to bring humour to somebody's life. And If I could inspire somebody to see something in a child, that's also a huge thing."

While Nathan does shows in Ontario, he greatly enjoys touring, and his upcoming shows will be his second year of visiting B.C. in a row.

It will be his first stop in Penticton, and he said he looks forward to it.

"I love touring, I love comedy in other small towns, I love travelling, I love to see how other people live," said Nathan.

While his comedy is not for all ages, Nathan said he hopes everyone can find the humour in the glimpse he offers from his own perspective and experiences.

Tickets for the shows are available online at https://linktr.ee/libertylaughscomedy.
