A Canadian music staple is coming to rock Penticton's famed summertime festival.
Sloan will headline this year's Penticton Peach Festival on Saturday night, Aug. 9.
Hailing from Halifax, the band helped spark Canada's east coat alternative rock movement in the early 1990s.
With hits like The Good in Everyone, Money City Maniacs and Underwhelmed, the rockers will play inside Okanagan Lake Park.
鈥淲e鈥檙e beyond excited to welcome Sloan to this year鈥檚 festival,鈥 said Shawna Tinga, president of Peachfest. 鈥淲ith their legendary status in Canadian rock and their incredible live performances, this will be a night to remember. Thanks to the support of our generous local sponsors, like Peters Bros. Paving, we鈥檙e proud to continue offering five days of free concerts and entertainment for the whole community.鈥
Sloan has earned nine Juno Award nominations, including a win in 1997 for Best Alternative Album.
The band features Chris Murphy, Jay Ferguson, Patrick Pentland, and Andrew Scott.
Penticton Peach Festival is free to attend and runs from Aug. 6 to 10.
