Jasmine Ohlhauser and Al Cardinal are visiting Salmon Arm more than once in a blue moon.

The JUNO Award-winning duo who make up Blue Moon Marquee will be back in town in April for a concert at Song Sparrow Hall.

Hosting the concert is the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society (SAFMS), which had the swing-blues-boogie-jazz band perform live on the CBC Blues Stage at the 2024 ROOTSandBLUES Festival, and virtually in 2021 as part of the festival鈥檚 Altered States series.

Ohlhauser and Cardinal performed at the 2024 Tkaronto Music Festival at TD Music Hall in Toronto on the heels of the release of their highly anticipated fifth album, Scream, Holler & Howl, co-produced by Grammy Award-winning guitar player and producer Duke Robillard.

鈥淭o say A.W. and Jasmine are old souls is an understatement,鈥 said Robillard in an SAFMS media release. 鈥淭hey are poised for worldwide recognition in a brilliant and unique genre-bending ride through American blues and folk, Gypsy jazz, Native American themes, jump blues, swing and more. These century-old traditions have been redefined and delivered in a new light here. They are astounding in their depth, groove and soul.鈥

Scream, Holler & Howl was honoured with the Blues Foundation鈥檚 Blues Music Award nomination for Emerging Artist of the Year (2023), continued the media release, noting the album also swept the Maple Blues Awards with four wins, including Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Acoustic Act of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. Most recently, Blue Moon Marquee was honoured at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards with Live Musical Performance of the Year and Roots Album of the Year.

Blue Moon Marquee's Thursday, April 3 stop in Salmon Arm will also feature pianist Darcy Philips and saxophone player Alison Young on the stage. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $29.50 for youth, seniors and members of the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society, and $34.50 for adults. Tickets go on sale Monday, Feb. 10
