Dazzling live performances of all kinds can be seen in 麻豆精选's Cultural District over the next week.

The Living Things International Arts Festival started on Monday, Jan. 20 and runs until Jan. 31, with a various of acts taking place at the 麻豆精选 Art Gallery, the 麻豆精选 Community Theatre, the Rotary Centre for the Arts and the Black Box Theatre.

"The festival brings together a diverse mixture of artists, genres and styles," reads a press release. "Performances range from mask performance to object theatre, from puppetry to interactive installations, music, dance and more."

麻豆精选 resident Eliseo Santillan, a Mexican pianist, composer, music producer, and the Living Things communications director thinks the festival brings warmth to town during the cold, winter month of January.

鈥淗aving moved to 麻豆精选 a few years ago, I feel so very blessed to have found a true home here, and a big part of that has been the artistic community," said Santillan. "Coming from a city with a large performing arts scene, it was wonderful for me to discover that there鈥檚 so much talent in 麻豆精选, along with many excellent professional performers who visit our city."

The festival was founded in 2017 by Neil Cadger, who recently retired from being a professor at UBC Okanagan.

鈥淭his year鈥檚 festival is a striking mixture of audio-visual and theatrical languages: illusions, transformations, live and immersive sound, and, of course, the captivating presence of highly skilled performing artists," said Cadger.

Tickets range from "pay what you can" to $50, and can be found on the Living Things website, along with more information.
