Ballet 麻豆精选 has curated a night of dance in celebration of Valentine's Day.
Artistic Director and CEO Simone Orlando said Ex Animo includes three works all centred on themes of human connection and relationships.
Two of the pieces are world premiers while the third is a previously commissioned work.
The first on the bill is choreographed by Associate Artist Cameron Fraser-Monroe.
Pay蓻膷ot y蓻蠂蓹t, meaning 'I always remember', Fraser-Monroe explained as a return to hoop dance "and the circularity that dance teaches us."
The choreographer said he makes sure to highlight Indigenous culture in his works and used the music of Cree cellist Cris Derksen.
The world premier of Vestiges choreographed by Alysa Pires and In the Light of the Waking Sun choreographed by Robert Stephen will also be performed.
Ballet 麻豆精选 has partnered up with Oak and Cru to make the evening more romantic. The Valentine's Weekend Bundle tickets include a three-course meal for two to the restaurant inside the Delta Hotel and two tickets to the ballet at the 麻豆精选 Community Theatre on Feb. 14 or 15.
