UBCO is hosting an event for Brain Awareness Week on Friday, March 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

While Brain Awareness Week is recognized globally, UBC Okanagan will be hosting an event to conclude the week.

The annual global campaign takes place from March 10-16 and raises awareness about brain health, neuroscience research and advancements.

On Friday, March 14, The Neuroplasticity, Imagery, and Motor Behaviour Laboratory along with the Department of Psychology at UBCO, The Dana Foundation, and the International Brain Research Organization will be hosting an event to raise awareness in 麻豆精选 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

During the first two hours, anyone who attends can tour the laboratory and classrooms with a guide who will take them through the event. From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., it turns into an 'open house' style, where attendees will be given a map and can explore the different sections as they please.

Dr. Brodie Sakakibara is the keynote speaker and will take the stage at 3:30 p.m., talking about the nuances of neurorehabilitation. The winners of the raffle will also be announced at this time.

There will also be a 'brain bee', snack time, and a chance to win raffle prizes from local businesses and several other neuro-related organizations.

To reserve your spot and for more information about the event can be found on Eventbrite.
