At a ceremony in Ottawa on Feb. 3, Dr. Unjali Malhotra with Westside Medical Associates received the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her contributions to Canadian healthcare.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to Canada.
Malhotra is said to be a trailblazer for women's health and an advocate for improved access to care.
鈥淚t is humbling to receive such an award,鈥� said Dr. Malhotra. 鈥淚t鈥檚 truly an honour and a time to reflect upon decades of effort鈥攏ot just by me, but also by the many people who have lifted me up, supported me, and supported the work.鈥�
The West 麻豆精选 physician co-founded women's health residency programs at the University of Manitoba and the University of B.C. Malhotra also works as the Medical Officer of Women's Health for the First Nations Health Authority and previously worked as a medical director at Options for Sexual Health.
