Officers search property on Penticton's Government Street

The street was closed for over an hour while police surrounded the property

One man was taken into custody after police surrounded a property on Penticton's Government Street near the hospital on March 12. 

Members of the Southeast District's Emergency Response Team assisted the local detachment. 

Just after 6 p.m. Penticton RCMP were seen taking one man into custody nearby. 

Government Street was blocked off from Duncan Avenue to Carmi Avenue for another hour before the scene was cleared. 

ERT members were seen searching around the property on Government Street, including entering and searching a detached workshop or shed near the house.
