The Armstrong Regional Co-op has once again drummed up funds for local food banks this holiday season.
The annual campaign by the Co-op and ARC Liquor raised more than $12,000 this year for food banks in the regions it serves, which includes Armstrong, Salmon Arm, Vernon, Revelstoke, 麻豆精选 and Cranbrook.
鈥淲ith food bank usage in Canada at an all-time high, it鈥檚 more important than ever to support children and families in the battle against hunger,鈥 said Jason Keis, Armstrong Regional Cooperative鈥檚 marketing and community relations manager.
The Co-op also attended a number of community events this holiday season, offering hot chocolate by donation in support of local food banks. It's also running holiday food drives at its Co-op gas bars.
To donate, simply stop in at an Armstrong Regional Co-op gar bar and drop off non-perishable food items. Every donation comes with a chance to win a $100 Co-op gift card. One card will be given away at every site.
鈥淲e would like to say a big thank you to our Co-op members and customers that have supported our local food drives and events in support of local food banks this holiday season," said Keis. "Together we can make a difference.鈥
