With 麻豆精选-Mission MLA Renee Merrifield announcing on May 16 that she would not be running in the next provincial election, a door opened for a new BC United candidate.
On May 29, BC United announced Ashley Ramsay to step into Merrifield鈥檚 role as a candidate for the 麻豆精选-Mission.
Ramsy, is a known figure in 麻豆精选鈥檚 tech industry, having founded the animation studio, Yeti Farm Creative.
She is also actively involved in numerous provincial and local organizations, advocating for economic diversification, technological innovation, and educational development.
鈥淎shley Ramsay is a dynamic leader whose entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to 麻豆精选鈥檚 vibrant tech industry and dedication to community development make her the ideal candidate for 麻豆精选-Mission,鈥 said Kevin Falcon, Leader of BC United.
Ramsay said that she is looking to bring experience in the tech industry and create jobs for people right here in 麻豆精选 to the Legislature, with a focus on creating opportunities for all residents, supporting local businesses, and fostering innovation.
And, while Merrifield might be departing from politics she did add her support for Ramsay, saying the tech entrepreneur is interested in driving economic growth and advocating for key issues.
Ramsay joins, West 麻豆精选- Peachland candidate Stephen Johnston, 麻豆精选 Centre Candidate Dr. Michael Humer and Lake Country - Coldstream candidate Pavneet Singh for the BC United party.
