1 dead in Okanagan Connector crash involving snowplow

The highway is now open

One person died as a result of a crash between a truck and a snowplow in the westbound lanes of the Okanagan Connector Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The crash happened around 8:45 a.m.  between Chidley Road and Trepanier Bench Road. It closed the westbound lanes for several hours.

When the highway reopened around 4:30 p.m., West 麻豆精选 RCMP confirmed one person died from the crash.

Investigators at the scene have determined that the truck travelling westbound collided with a snow plow while attempting to pass.

The truck was occupied by a lone occupant and it is not clear how many people were in the snowplow.

RCMP also stated that road conditions played a significant factor in this collision.

鈥淲e offer our sincerest condolences and thoughts to the family of the victim,鈥 said Cpl. Michael Gauthier of the 麻豆精选 RCMP.
