The page has turned to a new chapter as Central Okanagan Public Schools have found their new superintendent of schools and CEO.
Jon Rever, who is the current acting deputy superintendent, will take the position on July 1, 2025, bringing 33 years of teaching and administrative experience to the role.
"Jon's unwavering commitment to public education perfectly aligns with the Board of Education's Strategic Plan and our vision of Together We Learn," said Board of Education chair Julia Fraser. "With his deep understanding of our diverse learning communities, the Board is confident that Central Okanagan students and staff will continue to thrive with his leadership, fostering innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in education."
Rever is taking over for Kevin Kaardal, who held the position since 2015. He announced his retirement on Oct. 13, 2024.
"The Board of Education thanks Kevin Kaardal for his decade of service to Central Okanagan Public Schools," added Fraser. "Kevin's transformative leadership leaves a legacy of progressive improvement that Jon Rever will surely continue to foster."
