Death can be a difficult topic to discuss for many people.
To help people get more comfortable thinking and talking about it, and how it can affect loved ones, 麻豆精选 Unitarians is hosting its first-ever End-of-Life Seminar.
Four sessions will help attendees understand the challenges they will face in the final years and days of life.
鈥淭here鈥檚 a real need for these conversations and demystifying some of the more complex aspects of our twilight years,鈥� explains 麻豆精选 Unitarians Minister Reverend Brian Kiely. 鈥淪ome people are eager to have these discussions, and others may feel nervous.鈥�
The sessions include:
- Live Until You Die - presented by Rev. Brian Kiely;
- Representation Agreements and Power of Attorney - presented by Paul Hergott, 麻豆精选 lawyer;
- How to Talk About Difficult Things - presented by Clair Jantzen, registered professional counsellor;
- MAiD Today - presented by Rev. Brian Kiely.
鈥淲e want this seminar to kick off an ongoing series about death and dying,鈥� says Valaura Jones, community development manager with 麻豆精选 Unitarians. 鈥淥ngoing sessions will be created to help people at all ages and life stages.鈥�
The End-of-Life Seminar runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 at 麻豆精选 Unitarians (1310 Bertram Street).
