麻豆精选 city staff will be digging into policies that guide building podiums and microsuites that are part of new developments.
Mayor Tom Dyas brought the topics council鈥檚 Jan. 27 meeting, after stating an intention to do so in December. The reviews may eventually require changes to the Official Community Plan (OCP).
鈥淭he most effective way to make meaningful updates to the OCP is to ask these questions, task our staff with reviewing specific sessions and sections and come back to us with thoughtful answers on why we're doing the things we're doing that specific way,鈥 Dyas explained. 鈥淭his approach allows us to base decisions on clear, sensible information and adjust our by laws to better serve 麻豆精选鈥 residents.鈥
The reviews are not about creating more regulations, but ensuring current policies are working as intended, the mayor added. He also noted staff and council are working within the confines of the OCP.
鈥淭he potential outcome may be that we just continue on because now we have the information that we're missing at this point in time, or potential outcome may be that we look at something and say, we think we may need to change that,鈥 he said.
Staff is currently reviewing the city鈥檚 parking policy. It鈥檚 expected the building podium and microsuites reviews will be presented to council in March and April this year.
