A man previously convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) has been sentenced to prison for the same crime.

On Feb. 16, 2023, Aaron James Paul was sentenced to a 24-month conditional sentence stemming from an investigation conducted by the 麻豆精选 RCMP.

Those conditions included house arrest and not possessing CSAM.

On April 5, 2023, the Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) executed a search warrant at Paul鈥檚 residence, and evidence was found supporting new charges of possession of CSAM.

An RCMP news release says Paul pleaded guilty to those charges on Feb. 14, 2024, and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The judge imposed other conditions, for 10 years, as well as a lifetime order under the Sexual Offender Information Registration Act mandating Paul to register with the National Sex Offender Registry.

鈥淥ur ICE investigators remain dedicated in their pursuit of maintaining a safe community by holding those accountable who choose to exploit children of all our communities,鈥 adds Corp. Tim Russell with the Vulnerable Persons Unit.
