麻豆精选 RCMP take illegal drugs, guns, and weapons off city streets

The Crime Reduction Unit, Proactive Enforcement Unit, 麻豆精选 Municipal Traffic and Police Dog Services took part in coordinated special teams project.

A three-day blitz by 麻豆精选 RCMP took illicit drugs and cigarettes, firearms and cash off city streets.

Between Feb. 27 and Mar. 1, members of the Crime Reduction Unit, Proactive Enforcement Unit, 麻豆精选 Municipal Traffic and Police Dog Services took part in coordinated special teams project targeting the street level illicit drug trade in city.

Tallies of some of the seizures include:

  • Over a combined kilogram of illicit drugs;
  • Over 100 illegal pills;
  • Over 12,000 illegal cigarettes;
  • Four cell phones;
  • 14 vehicles towed;
  • Five replica firearms;
  • Eight weapons;
  • One restricted firearm;
  • $4,250 cash.

 Officers also took two impaired drivers off the road, and arrested a male with out of jurisdiction warrants.

Scott Powrie. 鈥淲hile we remain committed to targeting and disrupting all criminal activity in our city, we will make it especially uncomfortable for those bringing their unlawful behaviour to our communities.鈥
