麻豆精选's Gospel Mission is ready to serve this Easter, offering hot meals to those staying at their two emergency shelters and the city's unhoused community.
"While we serve meals every single day of the year, Easter is different," said Executive Director Carmen Rempel. "The Christian holiday of Easter is meant to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus - a story of hope when all looks hopeless. It is because of this message of hope that we take celebrating Easter seriously at KGM. It鈥檚 a day when we ratchet it up a notch鈥攕erving not just nourishment, but a banquet of hope, dignity, and community."
The meal is prepared by Chef Jeremy Lupen and team and will be served with the help of 25 volunteers.
The meal will be served at noon on April 19. At the same time, outreach workers will deliver hot meals to 麻豆精选's unhoused.
The Gospel Mission is asking people to join in the celebration by sending in Easter blessings and donations. Learn more at kelownagospelmission.ca.
