麻豆精选's Knox Mountain Drive will be closed to vehicles as a result of the increased risk of wildfire.
The City of 麻豆精选 issued a public notice, saying that the road up Knox Mountain will be closed on July 11, at 8 p.m. and will remain shut until the hot and dry conditions subside.
鈥淲e鈥檝e had some very hot weather the past few days which has resulted in our parks becoming extremely dry and significantly increasing fire risk,鈥 said Todd Cashin, Urban Forestry Supervisor. 鈥淭he entire park will remain open to the public, but we are limiting access by vehicle to the lookouts as a preventative safety measure. When temperatures are this high, we try to do everything we can to ensure our community stays safe from wildfire.鈥
People will still be able to access the mountain by foot, wheelchair or bike.
Residents are reminded that campfires and barbecues are not allowed in City or Regional District parks, except for barbecues on beaches. Smoking is also prohibited in all-natural areas.
