Smoke from a tree on Bottom Wood Lake Road was visible from Highway 97 on April 24

All three Lake Country Fire Department (LCFD) stations converged on Bottom Wood Lake Road on April 24, to douse a tree that was ablaze.

Smoke from the fire was visible in the area and from Highway 97 at approximately 3:30 p.m., said the LCFD in a statement after the incident.

The fire is now under control and crews are managing some remaining hot spots within the fire perimeter.

The LCFD is asking that people avoid the area to let the crews complete the necessary response.
