The Conservative, Liberal and New Democratic Parties of Canada have declared their candidates for the upcoming federal election in the Okanagan Lake West – South Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ riding.

Current Members of Parliament and politicians – including West Â鶹¾«Ñ¡'s Dan Albas – expect that Canada's newly appointed Prime Minister Mark Carney will ask the Governor General to dissolve parliament on Sunday, March 23, prompting a federal election.

Albas is the current Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party of Canada in the Central Okanagan–Similkameen–Nicola riding. The boundaries of the riding were redrawn in 2022 and in the 2025 federal election, the area Albas currently represents will become the Okanagan Lake West- South Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ riding.

In addition to being an MP, Albas is also the co-chair of the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations and was formerly the owner of a martial arts gym. Albas writes weekly columns on his website about what he is advocating for in the House of Commons.

In January 2024, Albas announced his intention to run for re-election and has said that he is looking forward to running a robust campaign.

In his most recent column, Albas said he expects the writ period for the federal election will be announced in the coming days.

Juliette Sicotte is the Liberal candidate running to be the MP of the Okanagan Lake West – South Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ riding. She is of Métis heritage and was raised in Snow Lake, Manitoba, but has called Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ home for the last 30 years. Throughout her career, she has connected with entrepreneurs and small business owners in a variety of sectors, including mining, fine arts, and technology. She currently works in sales and marketing and is also on the board of directors for The Bridge Youth and Family Services in Â鶹¾«Ñ¡.

Harpreet Badohal is the NDP's candidate for the Okanagan Lake West – South Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ riding. He ran in the 2024 provincial election as a B.C. NDP MLA candidate in the Â鶹¾«Ñ¡-Mission riding. Badohal is a registered occupational and environmental health professional with a Master of Science from the UBC Vancouver Faculty of Medicine.
