Setting the stage for students to excel in an evolving workforce, Okanagan College (OC) is opening its doors across the region.
A series of open houses will showcase how education at OC empowers learners to adapt, innovate, and thrive in a world reshaped by technology, societal changes, and the future of work.
Vernon is the first campus opening its doors Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The 麻豆精选 campus open house goes Thursday, Jan. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Salmon Arm's doors open Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The open house at the Penticton campus takes place Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Each OC Campus Open House event offers a College Fair, campus tour and the opportunity to check out OC labs and trades shops.
Spotlight Sessions for 10 different OC programs are also available at Vernon and 麻豆精选 events, where future students can learn more about different programs offered at the college and the careers they can lead to.
"As industries evolve and technology transforms the workplace, Okanagan College is committed to equipping learners with the skills they need to thrive," said Dr. Samantha Lenci, provost and vice president, academic at OC.
"Our open houses give future students a chance to explore programs designed for today鈥檚 world and tomorrow鈥檚 opportunities."
The OC events connect future students with professors, instructors, and industry-experienced professionals who lead more than 130 programs that emphasize hands-on learning, industry partnerships, and technology-driven training in fields like technology, trades, tourism, health sciences, business and more.
Information will also be available about flexible learning options, including microcredentials and part-time studies, designed to support lifelong learners and career changers.
"Whether you're entering post-secondary education for the first time or seeking to upskill in a rapidly changing world, OC offers the pathways and support to help you succeed," added Lenci.
鈥淎s an added incentive to come visit us in person, open house attendees can apply to attend OC on the spot and have their application fee waived.鈥
Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year are now open, and programs with earlier start dates are also available.
Attendees can enter to win a $500 tuition credit towards future education goals, with one $500 prize to be won per campus.
Alison Gibson, dean of community engagement and careers at OC, emphasizes how the college鈥檚 programs are designed to prepare students for the future of work.
"Our programs blend technology, innovation, and practical experience, empowering learners to meet the challenges of today鈥檚 workforce and prepare for tomorrow鈥檚 careers," said Gibson.
