The Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ Rockets wrapped up an overtime win against the Saskatoon Blades and a five-game eastern road on Dec. 16, as they head into the WHL Christmas break.
Saskatoon’s Ego Sidorov opened the scoring at 7:17 of the first period, however, the Rockets stormed back with three unanswered goals in just under six minutes.
Luke Schelter scored at 10:39 with assists going to Andrew Cristall and John Babcock. Caden Price made it 2-1 just one minute later assisted by Hiroki Gosjic and Marek Rocak.
With the Rockets short-handed, Ti Iginla increased the lead by two at the 16:16 mark, with assists to Cristall and Price.
The Blades would get one back at 19:57, Sidorov’s second of the game on the power play, to end the first period.
Saskatoon would tie the game 3-3 at 14:05 of the second on a goal by Bradon Lisowsky and then took the lead at 15:39 of the third period as Tyler Parr found the back of the back with the Blades short-handed.
With 18 seconds left in the period, Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡â€™s Marek Rocak made it 4-4 with Crystal and Gojsic assisting.
The Rockets’ Gabriel Szturc scored the winner 1:18 into overtime, with assists going to Rocak and Iginla, for the 5-4 win.
Saskatoon had six power play opportunities to the Rockets one.
Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ finished their eastern road swing with four wins and one loss and sit seventh in the Western Conference at 15-15-2-0 with 32 points.
The Rockets’ next game is Dec. 27 against the Blazers in Kamloops.
