City of West Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ crews will begin street sweeping the week of Mar. 18.
They will start in the Gellatly Bay, Glen Canyon and Goats Peak neighbourhoods and work their way to higher elevations.
Residents can help ensure a clean sweep by:
- Watching for no parking signs in their neighbourhoods, crews working in the area, and parking off-street Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:
- Sweeping debris off sidewalks onto the street in front of their homes, but refraining from sweeping road sand and salt into piles as it slows the sweepers’ progress.
Crews have also started sweeping parking lots at city parks and facilities, transit exchanges and bus stops, multi-use corridors and sidewalks that border public properties and arterial corridors.
Depending on weather and equipment availability, street sweeping will generally occur on weekdays within the following date ranges:
- Westbank Centre commercial area, excluding Highway 97 - early March;
- Gellatly Bay, Glen Canyon, and Goats Peak South Boucherie including Mission Hill, Green Bay, West Bay and school zones - Mar. 18-22;
- Lakeview Heights and Casa Loma Boucherie Centre - Mar. 25-28;
- West Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Estates and Rose Valley - Apr. 2-5;
- Shannon Lake, Shannon Woods, and Tallus Ridge - Apr. 9-12;
- Smith Creek and Glenrosa - Apr. 15-19;
- Stevens Road, West Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Business Park, Upper Glenrosa and Bear Creek - Apr. 22-26.
