West 麻豆精选 Fire crews quickly snuffed out a grass fire near Darroch Field Friday afternoon (June 14).
Firefighters were called to the area on East Boundary Road just after 2 p.m.
鈥淔irst arriving crews were faced with a quickly growing fire, being driven uphill by strong winds,鈥� said Fire Chief Jason Brolund.
Brolund said fast work by firefighters caught the fire and prevented it from growing further in difficult terrain.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but witnesses report seeing individuals running from the area at the time smoke was seen.
West 麻豆精选 RCMP and bylaw officers are investigating.
