The 麻豆精选 Urban Race is making its return to the city this spring.

The Urban Race, is a challenge event that combines problem solving with as much physical activity as a person is willing to expend.

Participants will navigate through the city to hit as many checkpoints as possible, without the use of a car. Competitors are able to use public transit (which will be free to competitors), pedal bikes and their own two feet to access the checkpoints.

鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to bring this unique event to 麻豆精选 for the second consecutive year,鈥 said Nathalie Long, the event director at Adventure Immersion Lab, the organizer of the Urban Race.

鈥淭he Urban Race is all about bringing people together through adventure and community. It鈥檚 an opportunity to get outside, explore the
city, and make lasting memories with friends, family, or colleagues,鈥 said Long.

The six hour event starts at 9 a.m. at the base of Knox Mountain on May 24, and will have competitors travel to the far corners of the city in search of checkpoints. Each team is able to create what they believe to be the best route and combination of travel modalities to navigate around the city on the hunt for check points. The team who accesses the most checkpoints before time runs out, wins.

Registration is now open at www.adventureimmersionlab.ca/events/urban-race-kelowna and is free for children under ten.

"No race experience is needed and there will be lots of draw prizes for all," said Long.
