Kyle and Jacqueline Boudreau.

This past August a West 麻豆精选 couple, their two boys and family friends were out on Osoyoos Lake when they ran into a harrowing ordeal.

A North Vancouver family, including a three-year-old toddler, were in the water and struggling to stay alive.

Kyle and Jacqueline Boudreau, their kids and family had spent the day swimming and boating when the wind started howling and they decided it was time to head back to shore.

鈥淚 was driving and I saw these hands frantically waving in the air,鈥 said Jacqueline. 鈥淚 looked over to my left and it was clear there were three people in the water and they needed some help. I told Kyle and everyone on board that they need help.鈥

It was clear to Kyle that this family was in distress and they had become separated from their boat.

鈥淭he wind was blowing one way and the current was going the other way and they were moving further away from their boat. I assumed they had gone for a swim and somehow got separated from their boat,鈥 said Kyle.

He saw a man and woman who were not wearing lifejackets, but the three-year-old girl was.

鈥淗e was screaming 鈥楽ave my wife, she鈥檚 drowning鈥,鈥 said Kyle. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 when I realized just how frail she was. I turned over onto my back placed her on my chest made sure her head was above water and got her back to the boat.

Friends of Kyle鈥檚 managed to grab the little girl and the husband and brought them back to the boat.

It took the woman more than 15 minutes to fully come around and realize she was safe and her little girl and husband had also been rescued, said Kyle.

The entire rescue happened in two or three minutes, but it seemed much longer, said Kyle.
