RCMP arrested two suspects on Lyman Hill in Canoe after a shooting that took place in Sicamous on Sunday, April 6.

Two Edmonton men have been charged with discharging a firearm with intent in connection to a shooting incident in Sicamous.

The individuals charged, Dhol Bol, 23, and Tofik Tofik, 18, were scheduled to appear in court – Bol on April 15 and Tofik on April 16. The two were arrested on Sunday, April 6, after police responded to a 4 p.m. report of shots fired near a condo building in the 300 block of Mara Lane.

"Police arrived on the scene and spoke with witnesses who described suspects leaving in a white SUV…," said RCMP Sgt. Murray McNeil in a media release. "Police determined the intended target of the shooting was a Sicamous man who is known to police."

McNeil said the Sicamous man fled the scene in another vehicle but was located by police. Though he was unharmed, the man's truck was found to have multiple bullet holes. It was seized as part of the RCMP investigation.

A description of the suspect vehicle was shared with neighbouring RCMP detachments. Salmon Arm RCMP attempted a traffic stop with a westbound white SUV approaching Canoe. McNeil said the vehicle failed to stop, and was later found abandoned near Highway 1 in Canoe. RCMP dog services and the Emergency Response Team were able to locate and arrest both suspects.
