麻豆精选 is now home to the province鈥檚 first Pharmacy Care Clinic thanks to Shoppers Drug Mart.

The new clinic aims to help ease pressure on the healthcare system as an estimated one million British Columbians area without a family doctor. That number is estimated to be around 235,000 in the Central Okanagan.

A pharmacy team will be able to provide care for 21 minor health concerns, like UTIs, pink eye, and allergies. The pharmacists can also administer vaccines, prescribe birth control, and assist with medication management.

The clinic opens its doors April 26, at 1030 Frost Road. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

With a valid health cared the clinic is free to use.
