UPDATE: Highway 1 reopens following collision in Salmon Arm

Highway 1 was closed in Salmon Arm following a motor-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025.

UPDATE: 8:54  a.m., April 8, 2025

Traffic is flowing once more in both directions on Highway 1 in Salmon Arm, with the road now cleared between 5th and 10th streets.

A motor-vehicle crash has closed a section of Highway 1 in Salmon Arm.

The highway is closed in both directions between the intersection of 5th and 10th Street SW.

The Tuesday morning, April 8 incident involved a pickup truck that wound up on the eastbound shoulder. It sits next to a sheared fallen hydro pole, with cable going across all four lanes. Firefighters, police and transportation ministry personnel are on scene, with flaggers arriving. 

It's unknown at this time if anyone was injured in the crash.
