OGO Scooters鈥 first summer in 麻豆精选 has been deemed a success and the electric scooter ride-sharing program isn鈥檛 going anywhere until Mother Nature says so.

鈥淲e鈥檒l see how it plays out here,鈥 said OGO Scooters鈥 co-owner Chris Szydlowski.

鈥淚t hasn鈥檛 been the greatest fall but things can always turn around there. Today (Thursday) seems like a sunny day so far.鈥

Since the operation began on July 12, the company has seen over 13,000 users register in the app and over 16,000 rides.

Szydlowski said they鈥檙e becoming familiar with people鈥檚 travel patterns and how the scooters are being used.

鈥淲e come downtown in the morning sometimes to drop off scooters and people are waiting for them,鈥 he said.

鈥淭hey鈥檒l park their car and take a scooter to commute.鈥

OGO is also working with post-secondary institutions in the area to provide an eco-friendly way to get around campus.

鈥淲e鈥檙e in discussions right now with Okanagan College to bring scooters to the campus and we鈥檙e also trying to connect with UBCO,鈥 said Szydlowski.

OGO plans to keep on scooting until the snow begins to fall.
