A person in the midst of a crisis was the reason behind the large police presence on Penticton Indian Band land on March 12.
The police received a call about the person at 1:29 a.m., and after responding to the residence in the Westhills Crescent area found that they had already left.
The individual was located over eight hours later, at 9:35 a.m., and according to the RCMP, several nearby residences and an office were evacuated out of concern for public safety.
The individual was apprehended without incident shortly after the area was secured, and has since been connected with care.
In addition to Penticton RCMP, members of the Southeast District Emergency Response team and 麻豆精选 Police Dog Services also responded.
