A bomb threat sent guests at a 麻豆精选 hotel into the night early Monday morning.
On Feb. 8.at 1:12 a.m., the 麻豆精选 RCMP received a report of a bomb threat which named the Accent Inn located in 1100 block of Harvey Avenue.
"Police have determined that an employee from the hotel took a call from an unknown person who stated that there was a bomb in the building. The employee then called police immediately. Police treated the non-specific threat as serious and responded to the hotel immediately," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey.
With the support of the 麻豆精选 Fire Department and BC Ambulance Services, the 麻豆精选 RCMP evacuated approximately 30 rooms of the hotel. The Accent Inn guests were sent across Harvey Avenue to the Capri Hotel which was offered as a staging area.
Two Police Service Dogs, 鈥業ce鈥� and 鈥楩rag,鈥� both trained in the detection of explosive materials and devices performed a systematic and thorough search of the hotel.
"Nothing of interest or concern was located during the search and guests were allowed back to their rooms," said O'Donaghey.
At this time investigators have not identified the suspect responsible for making the false call to the hotel, and continue to investigate.
