Police impounded a Dodge pickup truck belonging to a driver who was caught "stunting" in town on Jan. 1, 2025.

Surveillance footage helped police bring an end to the driver of a pickup truck "stunting" on Auto Road.

At 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1, Salmon Arm RCMP received a complaint about a grey Dodge Ram 1500 "stunting, doing donuts, and leaving at a high rate of speed."

"Police had received several similar previous reports in the area, similar in nature over the previous two months," said Const. Andrew Hodges in a media release.

The complainant provided both a licence plate, and also surveillance footage, and wished to pursue charges if the truck was located.

About 30 minutes after receiving the complaint, police found the truck on 30th St SE.

"The lone occupant and registered owner, a class 7 male driver claimed he had lent his truck out to a friend in the preceding 30 minutes," said Hodges.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days for stunting, and the man was also served a $197 violation ticket for driving without consideration.
