An Okanagan-based photographer captured special snowflakes that only form during frosty weather events.

Â鶹¾«Ñ¡â€™s José María Salmerón said that the specific formations, which are called dendrite snowflakes, only occur during extremely cold weather.

He used a macro lens to capture the tiny branch-like ice crystals on the snowflakes.
