The head of the Okanagan Forest Task Force is hoping someone will claim a motorhome that was recently found in Lake Country.
Kane Blake said the motorhome was found in a wildlife preserve within the district鈥檚 limits, and therefore cannot be excavated and removed easily, which is what he and the Forest Task Force would like to do.
鈥淪omebody had contacted the RCMP about it and we were told that the previous registered owner had passed away many, many years ago.鈥
Blake said the door to the vehicle was open and it was clear the inside had been stripped down and was full of debris, and was clearly being used by someone for a purpose other than outdoor recreation. Blake said while it鈥檚 not rare to find a run down RV in the back country, this motorhome is within municipal bounds. The vehicle will likely need to be towed, Blake said, adding that it will be a challenge.

鈥淩ight now we鈥檙e not even touching it. We鈥檙e trying to find whoever did dump it. 鈥
Blake is asking that if anyone does recognize the motorhome, perhaps from a neighbour鈥檚 driveway, to please contact the Task Force on their website or on Facebook.
鈥淲e want to see if we can get it back to whoever did have it.鈥
The Okanagan Forest Task Force is a volunteer group that spends hours every year cleaning up the back country.
