Race against Olympians at Â鶹¾«Ñ¡â€™s Midsummer 8km race.

The fast and flat 8km race takes place along Â鶹¾«Ñ¡â€™s waterfront starting at at Gyro Park.. The race is on a certified course, and is certified fun.
The out and back format of the event means that even back of the pack runners will be able to see the Olympians and fast racers duke it out for the podium after the turn around point.
All people are invited to come out and run, including those wanting to test their limits against the elites as well as beginners looking to run their first ever 8km while participating in a fun and friendly summer activity.
The top three male and female finishers will receive prizes.
Runners will receive souvenirs, post-race snacks and the chance to win draw prizes.
There will also be a one mile kid’s fun run after the event, to ensure the whole family has fun.
The Midsummer Race has been a favourite of the Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Running Club and Interior Running Association road race series, in varying forms and over various courses, for over 30 years.
This year, the Interior Running Association is celebrating its 40th year of organizing community events.
A portion of the race proceeds will be donated to the UBCO Track and cross country team, which is coached by Elmore.
This fall, UBCO will be hosting the Canada West Cross Country Championships.
