Christmas in 2024 was extra special for a Vernon resident.
Rielly Cameron won a $500,000 Lotto Extra prize, after scoring the win on the Dec. 24, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
鈥淚 bought the ticket on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas morning I saw on Facebook that there was an unclaimed ticket in Vernon,鈥� said Cameron, who purchased the ticket at the Canco on Okanagan Landing Road. 鈥淚 scanned the ticket [on BCLC鈥檚 Lotto! App] and the first thing I said was, 鈥業 guess we are getting a new house!鈥欌��
Besides house hunting, Cameron is looking forward to travelling in the near future.
"I am excited to get my passport ready and go visit some places," he said. "It was surreal to win, as anything is possible."
In 2024, B.C. lottery players redeemed over $54 million in winnings from the Extra and more than $132 million from Lotto Max.
