A wildfire near Summerland is being held by fire crews and helicopters.
The .30 hectare blaze is burning in the Okanagan is in the Liddell Creek area.
BC Wildfire Service has designated the fire as 鈥渂eing held鈥 and anticipates the status will be maintained and downgraded 鈥渂arring large shifts in the weather.鈥
The cause of the fire is unknown, however, two fires that started Thursday afternoon across Okanagan Lake are believed to be started by lightning.
Two fire crews and four helicopters responded to the blaze on Thursday Aug. 4. Crews are on site today, Aug. 5. mopping up hot spots and patrolling the fire鈥檚 perimeter.
To the south, the Keremeos Creek wildfire continues to burn out of control at more than 4,250 hectares. The fire has forced several properties to evacuate in the Olalla and Village of Keremeos area.
