Team Deane is headed back home to 麻豆精选 after competing at B.C. Provincial Curling championships with some wins, losses, new experiences from competing at an Elite level, and a hunger for more.
"We were able to string together some solid wins for our first provincial together," said Team Deane Curling in a statement to Capital News after the championships, which were held in Langley B.C. from Jan. 21-26.
The team came up short in the quarterfinal game against Team De Jong of Victoria, who then went on to win the entire tournament.
The winners of the tournament's men's competition will compete at the upcoming Brier which will be held in 麻豆精选 and the women's champions will compete at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay Ontario.
"Despite falling short of our ultimate goal of representing B.C. at the 麻豆精选 Brier, we are proud of our performance," said Team Deane Curling. "We鈥檙e looking forward to getting back to practice and preparing for next season."
Team Brown from Kamloops took home the trophy in the Women's tournament and will be competing at Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay for the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Curling Championships on Feb 14-23.
Team Deane will be at the Brier, which will be held at 麻豆精选's Prospera Place from Feb. 28-March 9, to cheer for Team De Jong on their quest for victory.
The top men's teams from each of Canada's provinces and territories will be in 麻豆精选 for the competition.
"The whole team will be coming up to cheer on our friends on team De Jong. We need a big B.C. crowd!"
