麻豆精选 golf pro ready for first U.S. Women鈥檚 Open

When it comes to playing golf, 麻豆精选鈥檚 Megan Osland is good, like really good.

After growing up playing at the 麻豆精选 Golf and Country Club, she鈥檚 moved on to one golf鈥檚 most pinnacle majors of 2019: the U.S. Women鈥檚 Open.

鈥淚鈥檓 sure I鈥檒l be nervous on the first tee,鈥 said Osland.

Other than that, she鈥檚 feeling as confident as ever after winning a sectional qualifier to advance to the Open, and continuing to improve her game on the Symetra LGPA Tour.

鈥淚鈥檓 going to try and keep it as simple as always,鈥 said Osland on her first U.S. open. 鈥淲ork on a few minor things in my swing and game before and stay sharp.鈥

鈥淚鈥檓 super excited. I鈥檓 just going into it with an open mind, it鈥檚 going to be an amazing experience for me to learn so much from being a part of the Open鈥

Osland will go up against the best golfers from around the world, as well as other Canadian pros Brooke Henderson, Celeste Dao and Naomi Ko.

She said she鈥檚 ready to compete.

鈥淚t won鈥檛 be my first time playing with them, I鈥檓 just excited and ready to learn a lot from seeing the players,鈥 said Osland.

Osland said she鈥檚 happy to be recognized as a growing name and face not only in Canadian golf, but in women鈥檚 golf. She credits the play of her fellow golfers as one of the reasons the sport has come so far in the country.

鈥淗enderson has been playing well, she鈥檚 really boost exposure for Canadian golfers and women especially, and it鈥檚 great to see how much support there is,鈥 said Osland.

As she looks forward to possibly the biggest challenges in her pro career, the KSS grad still finds herself looking back sometimes on how far she鈥檚 come from her 麻豆精选 golf days.

She feels the support from her hometown from all the far-away places her golf career takes her.

鈥淚 feel lucky to have the support and people on my side,鈥 Osland said. 鈥淎ll the support has been awesome.鈥

The big competition is just over two weeks away, and Osland she won鈥檛 have to wait to see her biggest supporters.

鈥淢y parents, the most supportive people,鈥 she said. 鈥滻t鈥檒l be really special for me to have my parents there, it鈥檚 pretty cool they get to experience that with me.鈥

The U.S. Open starts May 30 at the Country Club of Charleston in South Carolina.
