The 麻豆精选 Rockets have now lost six games in a row after falling to the Everett Silvertips 2-1 on Friday night.
麻豆精选 was without three key pieces all due to injury 鈥� leading scorer Andrew Cristall, goaltender Jari Kykkanen, and defenceman Kayden Longley.
Everett got on the board first when Austin Roest scored his ninth goal of the year to make it 1-0.
After a scoreless second period, the Silvertips doubled their lead when Ben Hemmerling found the back of the net, making it 2-0. He had a multi-point night as he also assisted on Roest鈥檚 first-period goal.
It wasn鈥檛 until the final minute when rookie Hiroki Gojsic got 麻豆精选 on the score sheet with his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Jackson DeSouza and Gabriel Szturc. That鈥檚 as close as the Rockets would come, as they fell 2-1.
Goaltender Jake Pilon did everything he could to keep the Rockets in the game as he made 37 saves in the loss. The Rockets mustered just 23 shots in the game.
The penalty-killing units for both teams were great in the game as 麻豆精选 went 0 for 6 with the man advantage and Everett went scoreless in five chances.
With the loss, the Rockets are now 7-10-1-0 on the season, ninth in the Western Conference.
麻豆精选 will have a couple of days off to regroup before finishing their four-game road trip in Victoria. They play in Victoria against the Royals on holiday Monday in an afternoon affair at 3:05 p.m. and on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m.
