Jacob Quillan is getting his shot in the NHL.
The former Penticton Vees forward, 22, was called up by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday, Jan. 22, the NHL club announced.
Quillan, who recorded 13 goals and 27 points in 20 games with the Vees during the shortened 2020-2021 BCHL season, was assigned to Toronto's NHL roster after forward Max Pacioretty was placed on the injured reserve.
The Nova Scotia product has spent parts of the last four seasons playing for Quinnipiac University in Connecticut and Toronto Marlies, the Leafs' American Hockey League affiliate.
The 22-year-old went undrafted and signed with Toronto in April 2024.
