Vernon bowlers bound for B.C.'s

Six youth qualify for Provincial Youth Doubles at zone finals in Vernon-Salmon Arm

Four Vernon bowlers led a sweep of the top-two positions in the Bantams (8-10-year-old) Division at the Youth Doubles Zone finals in Vernon and Salmon Arm March 15 and 16.

As a result, the duos of Ryker Schnyder and Blake Thibault, and Trentyn Birmingham and Ian Klingmann will head to the Shuswap for the Provincial Championships April 12 in Salmon Arm.

Schnyder and Thibault, coached by Jamie Schnyder, placed first with 294 pints over their combined averages. Birmingham and Klingmann, coached by Tia Birmingham, placed second, 135 pins over their combined average.

The top two teams in each division advance to the provincials.

One other Lincoln Lanes team qualified for the B.C.'s.

Colton Dranchuk and Lukas Rachwalski placed second in the Seniors Division (15-19), going 157 pins over their combined averages. The team is coached by Kara Kazimer.

Dranchuk's highlights included an 855 triple.

The pair of Talan Rachwalski and Trustyn Birmingham placed third in the Juniors Division (11-14) with 115 pins over their averages.

The zone finals included teams from Vernon, Salmon Arm, Chase, 麻豆精选, and Kamloops.
