The first homestand of the season was nearly perfect for the 麻豆精选 Falcons.

After starting the West Coast League (WCL) season 1-2 on the road, the Falcons went 5-1 on their six-game homestand at Elks Stadium, scoring 40 runs in the process.

The Falcons swept the Nanaimo NightOwls 9-3, 10-8, and 8-2 and then welcome the Portland Pickles to town, who they went 1-2 against in the first series of the season. After losing 15-3 on Friday night (June 9), the Falcons stormed back and beat Portland 5-3 and 5-4 over the weekend.

In Sunday鈥檚 4-3 win, centre fielder Trey Duffield walked off Portland with a single to bring home the game-winning run.

Going into Tuesday, Falcons third baseman Jonas Sulk leads with WCL with a .480 batting average (12-25) with three doubles, four RBI, seven runs scored, and three walks.

Through nine games this season, while the pitching has struggled so far (14th - 5.81 ERA), the team鈥檚 been outstanding on both sides of the baseball. They are currently, as a team, third in the league in batting average (.289) and fourth in fielding percentage (.964)

The Falcons are 6-3 on the year, sitting fourth in the North Division. They now head on the road for a three-game series in Bellingham, followed by a three-game series in Wenatchee.
