Rutland Arena's doors will be open on Wednesday, April 2 for individuals and families within the autism and neurodivergent communities.
Autism Okanagan, in collaboration with AutismBC, is hosting a free skate from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate World Autism Acceptance Day, giving people in the community a chance have fun and connect with others.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to bring our community together to celebrate autism acceptance and neurodiversity in a fun, relaxed setting,鈥� said Autism Okanagan Executive Director Christy Phillips in a press release. 鈥淭his event is about embracing who we are and creating a space where everyone can be their authentic selves. We look forward to skating, socializing, and celebrating the uniqueness of each individual.鈥�
Several professional hockey players will be in attendance, but it hasn't been announced who they are yet.
