Rutland Arena's doors will be open on Wednesday, April 2 for individuals and families within the autism and neurodivergent communities.
Autism Okanagan, in collaboration with AutismBC, is hosting a free skate from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate World Autism Acceptance Day, giving people in the community a chance have fun and connect with others.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to bring our community together to celebrate autism acceptance and neurodiversity in a fun, relaxed setting,鈥 said Autism Okanagan Executive Director Christy Phillips in a press release. 鈥淭his event is about embracing who we are and creating a space where everyone can be their authentic selves. We look forward to skating, socializing, and celebrating the uniqueness of each individual.鈥
Several professional hockey players will be in attendance, but it hasn't been announced who they are yet.
