Money is available from a regional cooperative to support capital projects dedicated to recreation, environmental conservation, and urban agriculture.
Co-ops across Western Canada 鈥� including the Armstrong Regional Co-operative, which operates gas stations and liquor outlets in the Okanagan, Shuswap, and East Kootenay regions 鈥� have made $1 million available to support the projects.
Co-ops across Western Canada are helping to create places for everyone through the Co-op Community Spaces program.
Eligible applicants can apply for funding for between $25,000 and $150,000. Co-op invites registered non-profit organizations, registered charities, or community service co-operatives to apply online between Feb. 1 and March 3.
鈥淭he Armstrong Regional Cooperative is proud to support organizations and projects that make a difference to our members and our community,鈥� said marketing and community relations manager Jason Keis. 鈥淲e encourage all local community organizations working on eligible projects, who could benefit from capital funding, to apply.鈥�
Since launching in 2015, Co-op Community Spaces has provided $13.5 million to 189 projects, including educational spaces, community gardens, recreational facilities and more.
